When you book your first consultation you will be asked to complete a detailed Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire, providing information on your health and lifestyle history, and a five day diet diary. The NAQ can be sent by post or via email, and must be returned to me at least 5 days before an initial consultation can take place. This allows me time to carry out a pre-consultation analysis and prepare the necessary paperwork.
The initial consultation lasts about one hour and 15 minutes during which a detailed case history will be taken, any health problems you may have and the goals you aim to achieve through nutritional therapy will be explored.
Relevant explanations as to why you may be experiencing some of your health symptoms will be given, where possible, and how they may be related to your food choices and lifestyle.
A nutrition and lifestyle programme with your health goals in mind, will be discussed, and a bespoke diet designed specifically to meet your needs. This may include meal plans, recipes, and if necessary, nutritional supplements that can support your diet.
At least one follow up consultation is recommended to help maximise the outcome of your treatment, and is usually recommended 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. During this consultation we will assess your progress and discuss how the programme has been working for you. If any changes are necessary, these will be agreed between us before new goals are set. Any supplements that were recommended to support your diet will also be reviewed, and where required, additional or alternative recommendations made. All changes will be recorded and a report provided for you.
Home visits are available if you are not able to attend the clinic, a small additional charge will be added to cover the cost of travelling to your home.
